2–5 June 2025 | Târgu-Mureș, Romania
Teatrul Studio – Str. Köteles Sámuel 6
This is not just a festival.
It’s a threshold. A mirror.
A scream turned into stage.
In a time when youth mental health is fragmented into diagnoses and silences, the JANUS FESTIVAL emerges as a radical and necessary space of expression. It marks the closing of the Erasmus+ project “Youth Vulnerabilities in a Europe Without Borders”, coordinated by the Universitatea de Arte Târgu Mures (Romania) , in partnership with ShipCon (Cyprus), Fundatia Professional (Romania) and SOLIS Srls (Italy).
For two years, young people from these three countries have worked with Autobiographical Theatre, a methodology developed by Domingo Ferrandis, transforming real-life experiences into performative narratives. What hurts, confuses, or isolates becomes scene, body, word, presence.
On stage:
Four autobiographical performances, created collectively from unspoken emotions, daily crises, inner voices, and broken bonds.
These are not shows. These are truths.
Programme
2 June – Breaking the Silence
3 June – Official Project Presentation + Birthday Party
4 June – Performance from Cyprus
5 June – Shards of Light
“Not everything fits into a diagnosis.
Some things can only be told on stage,
with a body that does not pretend.”
The JANUS FESTIVAL is a place where the invisible becomes visible, and the personal transforms into the collective.
During the process, both staff and young participants took part in training sessions directly coordinated by Domingo Ferrandis from SOLIS Srls , through experimental laboratories based on his techniques—movement, dance, theatre, and storytelling—to turn reality into stage fiction.
